The first column shows the Ctrl Key, it means you have to Press Ctrl+( letter/numbers ) and the right Column will show the results when you press those control keys. The second column is for Microsoft Excel and the Third column is for Microsoft Word.

I have updated my blog by putting a widget which could let my readers rate my post. Aside from comments that my readers do. This are the stars below my post.

Conclusion

What is Mapua Ownage?

Mapua ownage is a forum that gives all Mapuans and Mapua Alumni the freedom to speak. They say that the site is Unoffical Mapua Message Board of Mapua Institute of Technology. But I think this forum gives lots of information with regard to the present situation of my Alma Mater.

It provides useful information about the present announcement of the school. and having most users ever online equal to 125 last 02-01-2007 at 08:38 PM is a great success to the owner of the forum.

My Ratified Rank

It is good to see that my technorati rank is becoming high. And in this case my ranking at ratified.org is also moving near the top Philippine Technology Site.

Ratified.org measures the top 100 blogs of the Philippine blogosphere Electro-charged by über-geeky Technorati data sprinkled with Feedburner stats.

At present my ratified rank is 49.. ( that was a great accomplishment ). But if the links to my site will not increase before the end of 6 months that ranking will decrease since Technorati is maintaining the rank for the span of only 6 months.

Thanks to my post regarding the Viral Link and my Do Follow tag post which made me on top. I am also checking my stats using Mypagerank.net.

Thanks to Amit for posting about the updated Writer . There are lot of changes from the previous WLW. Below are just some of the highlights.

New Authoring Capabilities

Inline spell checking
Table editing
Ability to add categories
Page authoring for WordPress and TypePad
Support for excerpts and extended entries
Improved hyperlinking and image insertion
Paste Special ( Ctrl+Shift+V )

The other add-ons that is included which was not mentioned in the above list is the capabilities to provide the label for the Blogger user.

Thanks to the group of Programmer of this writer who makes my blogging life easier. I May say that the updated version of WLW is great. First of all the looks is cool with light blue color. There are more options. The best changes I like most is the capability to make label for blogspot since most of my blog is hosted there. And the other one is the Paste Special which let me post the same format as the source. Which is really suitable with my blogging requirements.

How much time do you spend searching in google? And then after your searches it result to nothing. So I suggest be smart on searching the net. Below syntax is very useful in finding information in the internet.

intitle:

This syntax restricts a search to titles of Web sites; it can be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search. An alternative syntax, allintitle: looks for all the words in the title of a Web site; allintitle: does not mix well with other syntaxes.

Example: intitle:”bob marley” “popular music”

inurl:

This syntax restricts a search to the URLs of Web sites. It can be an effective way to find sites from within a domain, directory or path; it can also be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search. See site: below.

Example: intitle:”civil liberties” terrorism inurl:cnn
Example: intitle:turkey intitle:carve inurl:help
Example: inurl:butterflygardening

site:

This syntax allows you to limit a search to a site or a top level domain. It is similar to inurl: but will not search for a site within a subdirectory (i.e., anything beyond the /). Some advantages to using inurl: over site: are:
      You can use inurl: by itself without using any other search terms or
      syntaxes.
      You can use inurl: to search subdirectories.

Example: intitle:”hate crimes” site:gov
Example: intitle:”hate crimes” OR “gay bashing” site:org

intext:

This syntax searches for words in only the text of a Web site. It ignores link text, URLs and titles which makes it a useful syntax for finding search words that are commonly used in URLs or links. It can be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search.

inanchor:

This syntax searches for text in a Web site’s link anchors (i.e., the text you click on get to a Web site). Since the anchor text for a link is usually descriptive of the page it links to, the inanchor: syntax can be a useful way to limit a search to relevant sites. It can be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search.

Example: inanchor:”Google Help”
Example: inanchor:AIDS inanchor:grants site:gov

For a fun experiment, try typing your name as a phrase with the inanchor: syntax!

link:

This syntax returns a list of Web sites linking to a specific URL. The link: syntax can not be combined with another syntax.

Example: link:www.linccweb.org

daterange:

This syntax allows you to limit a search to a specific date or range of dates that a site was indexed by Google (this is not the same as the date the site was created.) The only drawback to this syntax is that it works with the Julian Calendar, not the Gregorian Calendar (the one we use). To use daterange: first go to the Julian Date Converter at the U.S. Naval Observatory (http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/JulianDate.html).

Example: intitle:”george bush” daterange:2452389-2452389 (this would search for April 24, 2002)

filetype:

This syntax searches for specific filename extensions. Google searches for PowerPoint (.ppt), Excel (.xls), and Word (.doc) documents as well as Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), Adobe Postscript (.ps) and Rich Text Format (.rtf).

Example: intitle:”hate crimes” filetype:pdf
Example: intitle:google filetype:doc
Example: intitle:”date rape” site:edu filetype:ppt

related:

This syntax searches for Web sites related or similar to a specified URL. This is a good way to retrieve categories or types of Web sites.

Example: related:google.com
Example: related:www.linccweb.org

info:

This syntax provides a page of links to more information about a specified URL including a link to the page’s cache, a list of Web sites that link to the specified URL, a list of Web sites related to the specified URL and Web sites that contain the specified URL.

Example: info:cnn.com

I do believe that this techniques will ease your life in finding what you want in google and not just putting the “words+words” and then pressing Search Button.

How E-mail being track

It’s been a long question in my memory on how do investigators track the location of the e-mail. Until I found out a post from Daily Cup of Tech that E-Mail could be track using the Email Header. I tried to understand this thing and stopspam.org helps a lot also to understand how it can be done.

Email Graphic Traceroute – A very useful and easy to use tool. Simply paste your header into the web page and it will generate a Google map mashup showing you exactly where the e-mail has gone.
Geobytes Free Services – A huge list of useful free services that all rely on being able to associate an IP address to a physical location. These services include:
- Spam Locator
- IP Locator
DNS Report – A very comprehensive look at a specific domain name. Also provides an option to check an e-mail address.
Network Tools – A lot of very useful IP and DNS tools including:
- ping
- lookup
- trace route
- whois

In general there are still ways to alter this header by a professional hackers I may say.. and definitely i am not that one. If any of you have more information on how to get this header in an email it will be appreciated to increase knowledge about this things. But frankly speaking I am still having a hard time to get this header. Because I cannot find it on my outlook. LOL

What Happen last 2 weeks

This fast few days I have made some experiments to increase my Page Rank, Technorati Rank & Visitors. Among all the experimets, the viral tags gives lots of changes and increase on my Technorati rank and gives some increase in Alexa Rank. The Link Building experiment that I did was a flap since I only got about 1 link back for that experiment. My experiment with Site with “Do follow” Tag in Comments increase comments on my blog since a comment also means a link from a PR3 blog, Which I think will benefit the commenter. And likewise will benefit me to be able to know what my visitors think. The “Viral Link, Let me try this” did not suceed well on my blog maybe it does for others.

Before joining the experiments, I have Technorati Authority: 54 Rank: 94,444 but now I have Technorati Authority: 202 Rank: 21,635.

I thinks those figures show that one of my experiments did well on my ranking. And I hope to have a PR4 on the next PR updates of Google.

Did I succeed in Gaining Visitors?

I think In a way I did, From 10 Visitor a day to about 40-50 Visitors a day. But most of my visitors are also participants of the Viral TAgs experiment that is why the conversion rate to money is not that good since I only earn about $0.28 in Google Adsense from June 1 to June 12.

Did I succeed in increasing my RSS Subscriber?

My RSS increase from 13 to 22.. Ooppss.. I have an increase of 9. At least I have. But I have to check if it is through reader or by E-mail

What will be my next goal?

My next goal will be increasing search engine searchability or SEO, I do not know lot of things in this case perhaps I have to make some experiment again. And of course I have to increase my quality post for my viewers. A blogger should keep on mind that He/She blogs for the reader and not for the Computer and money.

ACTION STEP 5 – Include A Powerful Resource Box After Your Article

You absolutely need to make a resource box promoting your website, eBook, eCourse or affiliate program. The resource box gives the reader another way to get more information. This will spur the traffic to your promotion as more people read your article. Create a resource box that tells who you are and what you are offering to the reader. This should take no more than 3-6 lines of text.

These 5 steps will ensure that you have an article that people will want to read and then visit your website.
