Review : Spotback

google_ad_section_start–>

I have updated my blog by putting a widget which could let my readers rate my post. Aside from comments that my readers do. This are the stars below my post.

What is Spotback?

Spotback is a personalized rating system that recommends relevant content based on personal rating history using collaborative filtering and aggregated knowledge technologies.

How to get your Spotback Rate Everything widget

Go to the Spotback Get a Widget page. You will be presented with a choice of widget styles. Just pick one that you feel comfortable with, you can always modify your choice later. And then just follow the instruction and get the HTML code to be paste on your blog.

How does it helps your reader?

It helps the reader by pointing readers to other relevant part of your site. It also helps your reader to be able to rate your post.

Conclusion

It helps the webmasters and blog owner to increase page views which may mean an increase in income. It is also a community wherein if you use it right it will you advertise your blog.

I will make some experiments and I will rate every post that I will do. For my readers could you help me in this experiment and do some clicking on my tags and rating. After 2 weeks I will report what happen on this experiment.

My Ratified Rank

google_ad_section_start–>

It is good to see that my technorati rank is becoming high. And in this case my ranking at ratified.org is also moving near the top Philippine Technology Site.

Ratified.org measures the top 100 of the Philippine blogosphere Electro-charged by über-geeky Technorati data sprinkled with Feedburner stats.

At present my ratified rank is 49.. ( that was a great accomplishment ). But if the links to my site will not increase before the end of 6 months that ranking will decrease since Technorati is maintaining the rank for the span of only 6 months.

Thanks to my post regarding the and  post which made me on top. I am also checking my stats using .

My post regarding Adsense and SEO Tips also gives a good amount of visitors to my site.

if you wanna be updated on what is happening on my blog including my latest post reagarding different Technology at hand i invite you to subscribe to my feeds.

My New Windows Live Writer

google_ad_section_start–>

Thanks to Amit for posting about the  . There are lot of changes from the previous WLW. Below are just some of the highlights.

New Authoring Capabilities

  • Inline spell checking
  • Table editing
  • Ability to add categories
  • Page authoring for and TypePad
  • Support for excerpts and extended entries
  • Improved hyperlinking and image insertion
  • Paste Special ( Ctrl+Shift+V )

The other add-ons that is included which was not mentioned in the above list is the capabilities to provide the label for the Blogger user.

Thanks to the group of Programmer of this writer who makes my life easier. I May say that the updated version of WLW is great. First of all the looks is cool with light blue color. There are more options. The best changes I like most is the capability to make label for blogspot since most of my blog is hosted there. And the other one is the Paste Special which let me post the same format as the source. Which is really suitable with my blogging requirements.

Amit tips also helps me a lot to understand how this new WLW works. Thanks to him.

Google Searches Made Easy

google_ad_section_start–>

How much time do you spend searching in google? And then after your searches it result to nothing. So I suggest be smart on searching the net. Below syntax is very useful in finding information in the internet.

intitle:

This syntax restricts a search to titles of Web sites; it can be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search.  An alternative syntax, allintitle: looks for all the words in the title of a Web site; allintitle: does not mix well with other syntaxes.

Example: intitle:”bob marley” “popular music”

inurl:

This syntax restricts a search to the URLs of Web sites.  It can be an effective way to find sites from within a , directory or path; it can also be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search. See site: below.

Example: intitle:”civil liberties” terrorism inurl:cnn
Example: intitle:turkey intitle:carve inurl:
Example: inurl:butterflygardening

site:

This syntax allows you to limit a search to a site or a top level domain.  It is similar to inurl: but will not search for a site within a subdirectory (i.e., anything beyond the /).  Some advantages to using inurl: over site: are:
You can use inurl: by itself without using any other search terms or
      syntaxes.
You can use inurl: to search subdirectories.

Example:  intitle:”hate crimes” site:gov
Example:  intitle:”hate crimes” OR “gay bashing” site:org
Example: intitle:”binge drinking” site:edu

intext:

This syntax searches for words in only the text of a Web site.  It ignores link text, URLs and titles which makes it a useful syntax for finding search words that are commonly used in URLs or links.  It can be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search.

Example: intext:html site:edu
Example: intext:google.com inurl:help

inanchor:

This syntax searches for text in a Web site’s link anchors (i.e., the text you click on get to a Web site).  Since the anchor text for a link is usually descriptive of the page it links to, the inanchor: syntax can be a useful way to limit a search to relevant sites.  It can be effectively combined with other syntaxes to customize a search.

Example:  inanchor:”Google Help”
Example:  inanchor:AIDS inanchor:grants site:gov

For a fun experiment, try typing your name as a phrase with the inanchor: syntax!

link:

This syntax returns a list of Web sites linking to a specific URL.  The link: syntax can not be combined with another syntax.

Example: link:www.linccweb.org

daterange:

This syntax allows you to limit a search to a specific date or range of dates that a site was indexed by Google (this is not the same as the date the site was created.) The only drawback to this syntax is that it works with the Julian Calendar, not the Gregorian Calendar (the one we use).  To use daterange: first go to the Julian Date Converter at the U.S. Naval Observatory (http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/JulianDate.html).

Example: intitle:”george bush” daterange:2452389-2452389 (this would search for April 24, 2002)

filetype:

This syntax searches for specific filename extensions.  Google searches for PowerPoint (.ppt), (.xls), and Word (.doc) documents as well as Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), Adobe Postscript (.ps) and Rich Text Format (.rtf).

Example: intitle:”hate crimes” filetype:pdf
Example: intitle:google filetype:doc
Example: intitle:”date rape” site:edu filetype:ppt

related:

This syntax searches for Web sites related or similar to a specified URL.  This is a good way to retrieve categories or types of Web sites.

Example:  related:google.com
Example:  related:www.linccweb.org

info:

This syntax provides a page of links to more information about a specified URL including a link to the page’s cache, a list of Web sites that link to the specified URL, a list of Web sites related to the specified URL and Web sites that contain the specified URL.

Example:  info:cnn.com

I do believe that this techniques will ease your life in finding what you want in google and not just putting the “words+words” and then pressing Search Button.

How E-mail being track

google_ad_section_start–>

It’s been a long question in my memory on how do investigators track the location of the e-mail. Until I found out a post from Daily Cup of Tech that  E-Mail could be track using the Email Header. I tried to understand this thing and stopspam.org helps a lot also to understand how it can be done.

You can also see some useful information regarding the anatomy of the email here , here and

Below listed Online has also been identified by Daily Cup Tech as a useful when it come to Email Tracking

  • Email Graphic Traceroute – A very useful and easy to use tool. Simply paste your header into the web page and it will generate a Google map mashup showing you exactly where the e-mail has gone.
  • Geobytes Free Services – A huge list of useful free services that all rely on being able to associate an IP address to a physical location. These services include:
  • DNS Report – A very comprehensive look at a specific name. Also provides an option to check an e-mail address.
  • Network Tools – A lot of very useful IP and DNS tools including:
    • ping
    • lookup
    • trace route
    • whois

In general there are still ways to alter this header by a professional hackers I may say.. and definitely i am not that one. If any of you have more information on how to get this header in an email it will be appreciated to increase knowledge about this things. But frankly speaking I am still having a hard time to get this header. Because I cannot find it on my outlook. LOL

What Happen last 2 weeks

google_ad_section_start-–>

This fast few days I have made some experiments to increase my , Technorati Rank & Visitors. Among all the experimets, the viral tags gives lots of changes and increase on my Technorati rank and gives some increase in Alexa Rank. The Link Building experiment that I did was a flap since I only got about 1 link back for that experiment. My experiment with Site with “Do follow” Tag in Comments increase comments on my blog since a comment also means a link from a PR3 blog, Which I think will benefit the commenter. And likewise will benefit me to be able to know what my visitors think. The “Viral Link, Let me try this” did not suceed well on my blog maybe it does for others.

Before joining the experiments, I have Technorati Authority: 54 Rank: 94,444 but now I have Technorati Authority: 202 Rank: 21,635.

I thinks those figures show that one of my experiments did well on my ranking. And I hope to have a PR4 on the next PR updates of Google.

Did I succeed in Gaining Visitors?

I think In a way I did, From 10 Visitor a day to about 40-50 Visitors a day. But most of my visitors are also participants of the Viral TAgs experiment that is why the conversion rate to money is not that good since I only earn about $0.28 in from June 1 to June 12.

Did I succeed in increasing my RSS Subscriber?

My increase from 13 to 22.. Ooppss.. I have an increase of 9. At least I have. But I have to check if it is through reader or by

What will be my next goal?

My next goal will be increasing search engine searchability or , I do not know lot of things in this case perhaps I have to make some experiment again. And of course I have to increase my quality post for my viewers. A blogger should keep on mind that He/She for the reader and not for the Computer and .

5 Easy Steps For Writing An Article That Gets Top Results

google_ad_section_start–>Author: Kevin Sinclair

You may not know it, but you have an easy way to bring targeted traffic to your site. You can write articles for publication in ezines that will continue to bring you traffic to your site long after they appear online. Just think of this as an unstoppable traffic generator for your online business.

You may not know it, but you have an easy way to bring targeted traffic to your site. You can write articles for publication in ezines that will continue to bring you traffic to your site long after they appear online. Just think of this as an unstoppable traffic generator for your online business.

You do not have to be a Hemingway to be a great article writer. There are some basic rules to follow though. Here are 5 steps to writing a good article that will attract attention and result in more traffic and sales for your business.

ACTION STEP 1 – Create A Hot Title

You must grab the attention of the reader first. People scan everything before they commit to reading it. Let them know what the article is about in a way that makes them want to dig into it for more information. Two classic ways to make a good title are to use a “How to” format, such as, “How To Get A Base Hit 7 Times Out Of Ten”, and the “” format, which might go something like this: “5 Super Easy To Relieve Stress”.

ACTION STEP 2 – Get Your Reader’s Attention With An Interesting Opening Sentence

The next most important part of writing your article is to grab the reader with a powerful first sentence. This will keep them interested and wanting more information. Two of the best ways to hook your reader is to ask a question or to state a fact.

A question should make the reader curious to find out the answer by finishing the article. If you state a fact, you must make it the basis for the rest of your article.

ACTION STEP 3 – Discuss The Main Points In The Body Of The Article

Here is where you provide the content of your article, and the solutions to the problem that you are solving for the reader. Your purpose here is to educate and inform. Address each problem and follow it with the solution. Or if you are giving tips to your reader, you can list each tip in the order that best solves their problem.

ACTION STEP 4 – Summary and Ask Your Reader To Take Action

Always include a brief summary for maximum results. Then tell your reader why it is important for them to take action now. Give a benefit or two as an incentive for them to respond now. This can be a link to your website or newsletter. After all, this was the primary purpose of your article.

ACTION STEP 5 – Include A Powerful Resource Box After Your Article

You absolutely need to make a resource box promoting your website, eBook, eCourse or affiliate program. The resource box gives the reader another way to get more information. This will spur the traffic to your promotion as more people read your article. Create a resource box that tells who you are and what you are offering to the reader. This should take no more than 3-6 lines of text.

These 5 steps will ensure that you have an article that people will want to read and then visit your website. Just use this easy 5-step format and simply fill in the details with your own information. Then distribute your articles to ezine and newsletter publishers in your business niche. The result will be more targeted traffic and increased visibility for your business.

6 Quick Tips To Better Adesense Profits

google_ad_section_start–>Author: Sam Smith

Looking to maximize your adsense earning and to making more money with google adsense program? Here are 6 from some of the top experts.

Looking for an easy way to monetize your site and start earning money from the traffic you have? Adsense has proven itself to be one of the easiest ways for webmaster to make money. Adsense is truly the most efficient way to making an money from a website as you don’t have to do any selling. Adsense deals with all of the money and contacting advertisers which leaves the webmaster time to promote their site. However there are many webmaster struggling to earn any kind of decent money from adsense. While on the other hand their are a fortunate few that are earning a great deal up in the hundred even thousands of dollars a day range. The greatest thing about the internet is that people are willing and open to sharing information and the top adsense earners are often more then willing to share there secrets and tips of what they do.

The webmasters that have been there and done it and are now earning income daily from their websites have a ton of great tips and helpful advice for those just getting started in the field of adsense and contextual advertising. Some of these tips can quickly boost earnings and to continuously grow a webmasters income.

Below are five simple steps that will help you get started towards greater adsense earnings.

Best Ad Unit
The one ad format that seems to consistently earn more then any other ad and also the one that is favored by the majority is the Large Rectangle (336X280). This ad format has the ability to create a higher CTR, or the click-through rates. Why does this ad tend to outperform all of the others when there are so many other options out there? Basically because the ads will look like normal web links, and people, being used to clicking on them, click these types of links. They may or may not know they are clicking on your Adsense but as long as there are clicks, then it will all be for your advantage.

Use Custom Color Palettes
Create a custom palette for your ads. Choose a color that will go well with the background of your site. If your site has a white background, try to use white as the color of your ad border and background. The idea to patterning the colors is to make the Adsense look like it is part of the web pages. Again, This will result to more clicks from people visiting your site. This is known by adsense professionals as blending.

Adsense Placement
Adsense ad placement is a place where many webmaster leave money on the table. You see they sign up and get the ad units up and on their site. However, they bury the ads down at the bottom of the page well hidden from most users. Many webmasters do this because they don’t want their site to be filled with too many ads as they feel it ruins the design. While most will agree that the ads are not the most attractive element if you are even reading this article then obviously you are looking to earn more from adsense so just get rid of the notion of a beautiful site and instead focus on a money producing site no matter what it looks like. In fact some of the top earning sites are the ugliest.

Got Links?
Maintain links to relevant websites. If you think some sites are better off than the others, put your ads there and try to maintaining and managing them. If there is already lots of Adsense put into that certain site, put yours on top of all of them. That way visitor will see your ads first upon browsing into that site.

Automate Ads
Try to automate the insertion of your Adsense code into the web pages using SSI (or server side included). Ask your web administrator if your server supports SSI or not. How do you do it? Just save your Adsense code in a text file, save it as “adsense text”, and upload it to the root directory of the web server. Then using SSI, call the code on other pages. This tip is a time saver especially for those who are using automatic page generators to generate pages on their website.

These are a few of the most basic and starting tips that have worked well for those who generate hundreds and even thousands from their websites. It is important to know though that ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

Every site will perform differently and there are no hard and fast rules. The above will give you some good ideas of things to start with. The ultimate trick to earning from adsense to is try many different things out and always test your results. Make one change at a time and then test the difference. Implement the things that increase your earning and drop or forget those that don’t. The tips given are complied by those that have boosted their earnings and are therefore just guidelines. If they have worked wonders to some, maybe it can work wonders for you too. Try them out on your ads and see the results it will bring. If others have done it, there is nothing wrong trying it out for yourself.

Dedicated Server do I need this?

google_ad_section_start–>

This is an sponsored review

This site is now hosted through Blogger.com with free by google. Lots of Problogger in the Industry tells that if you use a free blog the chance of gaining much more income is very less compared to those which have their own and host.

There are lots of factors need to consider in having your own Domain and Server. One thing is the Budget. Ofcourse if you are using a free hosting that will only mean that you will not pay anything as long as you are using the name ( i.e XXXX..com, XXXX..com ). If you  are having a low budget by you want to get away those free you can use and apply for a shared server. But if you have a good budget and want full control for your site you will then go to a Dedicated Servers.

Why do you need to have a dedicated server?

If you want Total control allowing you to install, configure, and manage your web applications the way you want and without interference.  If you need flexibility and control of your hosting environment, a Dedicated Servers is an excellent choice for you.

And since this is an sponsored review by ServePath I migh as well do some comment / reviews for their site.

My Review for ServePath

If you want to know more about Dedicated Server you might visit their home Page. The Site is well design and full of information that you are looking. With a 6 years experience in the industry and still running the site seem to be dependable. You will never be lost on site. The site will also gives you an impression on what service they are giving.

Their service amount ranges from US$ 99 to US$ 599 + setup which depend the suitability of your requirements.

So i think this is it. Although I still have to save some more money to be able to get a Shared server or a dedicated server in the future. But I have to start saving now..

Could Viral ViralTags increase our PR and Ranking

Ok Since this is an SEO month for me and I am increasing my ranking and gathering some new found friends I have received a request from Jimmy to try his Viral Tags, And so I am now riding in this viral tag. You could see different Experiment I am doing for this pas few days in So just follow the below Instruction and let us all benefit from this.

==== Copy and Paste below this line ===

Instructions:

1.) Copy and paste the matrix of “ViralTags” below.

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Viral Tags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice with your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a max of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Viral Tags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “Viral Tags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow virally.

Host Tag:

Important: Once I get a ping back from you, I will add your anchor text and the associated link you designate as “Host Tag” here, replacing one of the “ViralTags” from the matrix above. As more and more copy and paste this matrix, the more backlinks you will have with your anchor text. If everybody who copy and paste from your blog does the same, pretty soon this will spread and go viral. So, the sooner you participate, the more links with anchor text you will receive.

=== Copy and Paste from Above this line ===

So what are you waiting for.. Copy and Link.. There are still lots of tags in here..
