Tip in using bookmark feature of Firefox

I have discover a new ways to increase my efficiency in browsing sites which I frequently visited. This could only be used if you are using firefox as your browser.

I am referring to the use of Ctrl D ( Making a bookmark ). By Pressing Ctrl D it will bookmark the websites you like. Just follow the following steps:

  1. Go to your favorite Site
  2. Press Ctrl D
  3. Then Press Bookmark at Menu bar and look for the Website you have bookmark.
  4. Right click then select ” properties “
  5. then at the keyword put 2 or 3 letter word that you easily remember then presto.
  6. When ever you want to visit the site just enter the 3 letter word that you have input and you can immediately go to the site.

Nice tip huh.. Thanks to Amit .

What’s New in Firefox 2.0.0.5

Good work for the Team.

Firefox Extension: Smart Digg Button

google_ad_section_start–>

A very good firefox extension has been introduced by Derek van Vliet and called it Smart Digg Button.

The Smart Digg Button extension for Firefox places a button in your status bar. It uses the newly released Digg API to determine if the web page you are currently viewing has been submitted to Digg.

If the page you are viewing has been submitted to Digg, it displays the current number of Diggs the page has. Pressing the button takes you to the submission.

If the page you are viewing has not been submitted, pressing it takes you to Digg’s submission form where you can submit the page to Digg.

Compatibility: Firefox version 1.5 – 2.0.0.*

Install Extension Here

Note: When installing, be sure to click “Edit Options…” if it pops up to allow neothoughts.com to install add-ons for Firefox.

If you are a fan of Digg I think this will be of great to you.

In addition I would like you to use an alternative ways using RSS feeds. This is with the use of Firefox Extension SAGE. As a response to a friend request over a comment on my post for Firefox 2.0.0.3 below is my idea about it.

Sage is a lightweight RSS and Atom feed aggregator extension for Mozilla Firefox. It’s got a lot of what you need and not much of what you don’t…

* Reads RSS (2.0, 1.0, 0.9x) and Atom feeds
* Feed Discovery
* Integrates with Firefox’s bookmark storage and Live Bookmarks

* Newspaper feed rendering customizable via style sheets
* Technorati and RSS search engine integration
* Support for the following locales: Argentine Spanish, Catalan, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Slovenian, Spanish, and Swedish

Works with:

Firefox Firefox: 1.0 – 2.0.0.*  ( It also works with Firefox 2.0.0.3 )

Based on my usage it is almost same as netvibes but the best thing here is you will not be required to put any password in order to view the feeds. The feeds will then be exported temporarily at your hard disk c: . But ofcourse before using this extension you should be able to download the Firefox Toolbar.
