I have updated my blog by putting a widget which could let my readers rate my post. Aside from comments that my readers do. This are the stars below my post.

What is Spotback?

Spotback is a personalized rating system that recommends relevant content based on personal rating history using collaborative filtering and aggregated knowledge technologies.

How to get your Spotback Rate Everything widget

Go to the Spotback Get a Widget page. You will be presented with a choice of widget styles. Just pick one that you feel comfortable with, you can always modify your choice later. And then just follow the instruction and get the HTML code to be paste on your blog.

How does it helps your reader?

It helps the reader by pointing readers to other relevant part of your site. It also helps your reader to be able to rate your post.

Conclusion

It helps the webmasters and blog owner to increase page views which may mean an increase in income. It is also a community wherein if you use it right it will you advertise your blog.

I will make some experiments and I will rate every post that I will do. For my readers could you help me in this experiment and do some clicking on my tags and rating. After 2 weeks I will report what happen on this experiment.

How E-mail being track

It’s been a long question in my memory on how do investigators track the location of the e-mail. Until I found out a post from Daily Cup of Tech that  E-Mail could be track using the Email Header. I tried to understand this thing and stopspam.org helps a lot also to understand how it can be done.

  • Email Graphic Traceroute – A very useful and easy to use tool. Simply paste your header into the web page and it will generate a Google map mashup showing you exactly where the e-mail has gone.
  • Geobytes Free Services – A huge list of useful free services that all rely on being able to associate an IP address to a physical location. These services include:
  • DNS Report – A very comprehensive look at a specific name. Also provides an option to check an e-mail address.
  • Network Tools – A lot of very useful IP and DNS tools including:
    • ping
    • lookup
    • trace route
    • whois

In general there are still ways to alter this header by a professional hackers I may say.. and definitely i am not that one. If any of you have more information on how to get this header in an email it will be appreciated to increase knowledge about this things. But frankly speaking I am still having a hard time to get this header. Because I cannot find it on my outlook. LOL

Adsense and SEO Tips

Adsense

  1. Don’t forget to to your site.
  2. Content is still the king of Adsense since your advertiser will based on the keywords that is available at your site.
  3. Use the keywords that is likely to be searchable in your blog : ( You may check this keywords tool )
  4. Blog Niche ( with particular topics an example is Philippine Election 2007 ( niche is Philippine Election )and others.
  5. Mixed the color of your into the color of your blog
  6. If possible do not use borders in you adsense code.
  7. The best location of search box is on the upper right corner
  8. Monetize your blog if you have about 100 or more visitors a day
  9. Don’t Monetize those blogs that there is no visitors since as per my experience whenever I put the code in those site without good amount of Visitors the adsense un other blogs is not performing well.
  10. Do not click your own ads or get banned. ( very important )
  11. Do not bring your adsense in an area where there is danger in clicks. Adsense might banned you for this
  12. Put your adsense code in an area wherein if somebody landed on your page they can easily see them.
  13. Use Firepox as your browser
  14. Predict the keywords that your possible reader will look in the future. For example in my Philippine Election 2007 site I have predicted that after the election date, most of Filipinos will look for ” Election Result ” and therefore the next post that I made mentioned about the ” election result “, “proclaimed Winner” etc.
  15. Make good use of the Ad Channels,this will give you information on what adsense type is giving good convertion
  16. If your blogs is having a very high traffic I would suggest you have to use picture ads but if not you better use text only and not combine. Based on my experiment text gives a higher ( Click Through Rate ) than Pictures.
  17. Put some Link Text at the upper portion of your blog under the header pictures
  18. Stop MFA at your site! Although it has been reported that adsense is stopping this MFA ( Made for Adsense ) Site.
  19. I turned off my onsite advertiser sign up . Some says that it might increase your CTR ( No hard evidence but it is worth trying )
  20. Hold your payment until it reaches your desired amount then use the DHL service in receiving the cheque.

I may only speak for those using free blog services because this is what I am using.

  1. Always put tags on your post
  2. I use Site Search Tags in my post with format as follows format as follows ( Applicable to blogspot only ) . As per my experience

  3. I am putting Analytics code in my blog to monitor the areas in which I need to improve my blog
  4. Comment !!! comment !!!! to any site that relates to yours. The tendency is the visitor of the site might visit your site and stay if they find your site interesting.
  5. Participate in contest to have link from other site ( like Jannete Toral’s Contest & Other Contest)
  6. Do some speed linking to others site, Tipping your visitor about the good information you have seen while browsing.
  7. Look for a good post in the net and blog about it. The tendency, a possible link back will be done.
  8. Avoid broken link
  9. Join the Social website like & to increase visibility of your site.
  10. Go to the known site among your niche who is using & then try to contact their recent visitor and inform them about your blog and add them as your contact.
  11. Join site that allows you to can post and you direct your readers to your site. an example is pinoyblogosphere.com , pinoyblog.com , promote your site ( If you have others let me know thru comments )
  12. Join Technorati.com in order for you to monitor who’s linking to you and don’t forget to
  13. If possible make a contest that will direct some visitor to your site. It is recommended to make contest after your site reach a sufficient number of post so that any visitor will have lots of option to go at your site. It is useless to drive traffic on your site if you don’t have sufficient amount of post.

Other Tips

  1. I use which makes my life easier.
  2. I use to host my pictures of this blog and my blogs.
  3. Some says that pictures for your post gives more attraction to the readers. You may see how Techcrunch & makes the post.

How to : Set up POP @ Windows Mobiles 5

 I am wondering if I could use my PDA Mobile with Windows Mobiles 5 in receiving my e-mail at the office using POP and it succeed. How do I make it? just follow the settings mentioned below

e-mail Address : youremailadd@gmail.com

username : youremailadd@gmail.com

incoming mail server : pop.gmail.com

outgoing mail serer : smtp.gmail.com

: ” Blank”

Incoming Mail server required SSL authentication : ” Check it “

Outgoing Mail server required SSL authentication : ” Check it “

use separate setting : ” Do not check “

Get message header only

This is also applicable if you have a company e-mail. When you tried top open your email thru the net using exchange server or whatever try to look at the lower left corner of the screen while the net is asking the password, this number which could you see at the lower left end is usually the incoming mail server / outgoing mail server of your company then follow other details as mention above.

How to Access Blocked Website

There is now reason for me to be happy since I can now again access technorati.com since recently the site was banned in Saudi Arabia.

The site name is http://www.99s.net/ as shown below. You can see their explantion on how it works below.

HTTP Proxy servers allows you to indirectly connect to other websites by bypassing your ISP or companies’ restrictions. 99s.net is a web proxy server that allows you to surf the web without any restrictions.Well, Have fun and ejoy surfing…and make sure you read our TOS.
Oh, by the way, how do you like the new design? cool ha?

You just have to enter the Banned URL to the space provided and presto you can now access it. It is an easy way to do it. It works perfect for me. I just don’t know if it could be used in China where in lots of website is being banned.

The question is how will you adsense know what is the proper keyword for your post? The Answer is you have to tell adsense where is the beginning of your post and the ending of your post. How? Check it out below.

Digg’s count on your post?

How to make your digg count on your post and giving access to your reader to immidiately digg your post.  Well, after seeing other do this. I have tried some experimentation how to do it and it goes like this.

1) Submit the blog post you have made to Digg so you could have the first count.

2) Then after submission to digg, Digg will give you a URL directing to the digg post that you have made

3) Copy the URL

4) Edit your post ( the one you have submitted to digg )  and incorporate this code

Excel Tricks : Hide Those %&@# Formula Errors

 Below is another Tricks

Problem : You are making a calculation on Your Excel Sheet and suddenly when you remove your Fixed Values, Your calculated answers returns the value ( #VALUE or #DIV/0 ). This is because a certain number ort any number has been divided by Zero.

Solution : You have to use the function ISERROR

ISERROR Returns TRUE if the value is any error value

Syntax : =IF(ISERROR(Original Formula),”",(Original Formula))

Sample : =if(iserror(B4*C4),”",(B4*C4))

Conclusion : This means that if B4*C4 will result to an invalid mathematical Calculation the answer will be null ( or blank )

Fight the Junk E-mail

I am really annoyed with the increasing number of Spam Mail that I am receiving everyday. You might wonder what are the things I am doing to combat this spam email? First of all I want to inform you that I am using Outlook 2003. And this method is pattern for that version. The first step is to go to the Email you suspected as junk, Then press right click and press the “Add sender to Blocked Sender List “. And since I am doing this time for almost 3 mos from now I have made a list of this Junk mail sender. As of now I have 1,273 list of Junk E-mail Senders >>>> Download here. After your download follow this steps.

1. Go to Action >> Junk Email >> Junk Email Option

2. Go to Block Sender

 

3. Then Import ” Press Import from File ” the files that you have Downloaded above.

For sure this will make a difference. If you have other list that you wanna share let me know so we can update this post and I am sure this will a lot of Outlook Users.

I want to share you some application which I am using to chat with and MSN via my 3230 mobile. Just try to access http://wap.mig33.com, and download the Mobile Application.

Here are the simple step to access and Install mig33 on your mobile:

Step 1 : Make sure your mobile is capable of web browsing
Step 2 : Enroll your mobile phone to your service provider to Mobile Internet ( if you are in Saudi and using Al Jawal – Type “NET” in message and send to 2222 )
Step 3 : Surf and go to http://wap.mig33.com using your Mobile Internet
Step 4 : Then Download the mig33 installer
Step 5 : accept the installation even it is unverified
Step 6 : After installation go to the Program list on your menu and try to look for mig33 application
Step 7 : Then it will ask you to register if you have pre registered on their site http://www.mig33.com from your computer you can use this log in details in your mobile if not you have to register.
Step 8 : When ever you are already log in just press menu and change the setting of IM ( Instant Messaging ). Put your login details for yahoo and then presto you can now chat using your mobile. In Saudi Arabia the charge is based on Kilo bites (KB) Sent.

I hope you can get it. My wife and I is enjoying chatting with our relatives and friends because it’s convenient to use our Cellphone than to open the computer. That is only my opinion.
