Sony have launched PSP. Version 5.0 Firmware have launched their latest firmware for the PSP. Version 5.0 is the latest update which allows for Wi-Fi access to the PlayStation Store as well as a full sized QWERTY keyboard.

Other goodies included are… the ability to output video from PlayStation format software to a TV (PSP-2000 only). Playback formats have also had a change too so that now MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) Video Main Provile (AVC CABAC) in 640 x 480 pixels can be used (if you understood what that means!)

A sleep timer has been added to the control panel so that music can be played as an alarm clock to wake you up in the morning.

Other PSP 5.0 Updates

* [Title Display] has been added as an option under [Video Settings].
* [usb Auto Connect] has been added as an option under [System Settings].
* [Backlight Auto-Adjust] has been added as an option under [Power Save Settings].
* The default Theme for the PSP system has been redesigned.
* You can now use a full-size on-screen keyboard.
