One common problem of an excell user is to be able to convert old text file ( CSV )  into an files. DOS Programs will usually give you an output in CSV for or comma delimited form. Let me give you an idea what is CSV, by checking Wikipedia it will give you description as follows:

The comma-separated values (or CSV; also known as a comma-separated list or Comma-Separated Variable) file format is a file type that stores tabular data. The format dates back to the days of mainframe computing. For this reason, CSV files are common on all computer platforms.

CSV is one implementation of a delimited text file, which uses a comma to separate values. However CSV differs from other delimiter separated file formats in using a ” (double quote) character around fields that contain reserved characters (such as commas or newlines). Most other delimiter formats either use an escape character such as a backslash, or have no support for reserved characters.

Most CSV files is an output of the DOS based programs or even some LISP Program that was done in AutoCAD. I remember doing on sheet in AutoCAD where in I have to convert the Barschedule made in AUTOCAD into Excel Format. What I have before is only a Lisp program that will give me CSV files. Converting that into excel is not that easy job because it will garble or mixed up. What I did on that time is manual input and arrangement. It was really a hard time if only then I know about DataStreams I think my life will be much easier. You may see how it works on their website.

I-mate PDAL Technical Review

I just had an i-mate PDAL  2 mos ago and here is my review for it.

Cellphone

As a I may say that i-mate PDAL is not really good compared to Cellphone Since sometimes I am having a hard time to hear what others person is saying. It is sometimes hard to stop or hung up the phone.

I think as a PDA, i-mate PDAL is great in my 2 mos of usage it hungs only once, during my early usage of this phone. I have installed my bible thru e-sword site and it performs ok.

Office

I have some problem with its since whenever I work with and tried to edit my previous work I have to rename and save us the document or else if you save it on the same documents it will tell you an error.

Alarm Clock

I may say that this is not design as an alarm clock since the sound is very low while alarming

Internet Usage

You can use it thru Internet but the problem you have to use the built in explorer or else you have to purchase Opera mini but in comparison with Nokia, Windows mobile phone is much more like a deskstop.

If you are subscribe in the Internet which is being paid per kb, this is not advisable but if you are using the net that is being payed per hour I think this is perfect.

The best thing here is you can also use thru Wi Fi connection.

Reminder

This is a very good tool for reminding since the next reminder even if it is before 3 days you can see the list and keep on reminding you what to do.

Since there is no keypad for this mobile there are 4 option for you to choose

Block recognizer

Keyboard

Letter Recognizer

Transcriber

Battery

The battery is ok,It may stand till 3 days if you are not using heavily. But if you will use it on a heavy usage It will only last a day. The best thing here is the data is not being lost when the battery is drain not unlike other PDA where when the battery is out the data is out also.

Sound

If you will by this just to here music, I recommend no to buy, The sound system is not that sophisticated not like Nokia.

Email

You can view your office email and gmail thru this phone using POP3. I will post later how you could do it.

In general I may say that this phone is perfect for business purpose but if you are looking for a phone for pleasure purpose, you will just waist your money buying i-mate PDAL I suggest by a NOKIA brand model.

This is the review that I could share to you. I am using the i-mate PDAL for about 2 mos and I am satisfied in General on Its perfromance.  This is not a paid review.

You could provide any mathematical equation you like. Even it is 3,4,5 and so on variables. It is cool that is why it caught my attention, As an Engineer this kind of application is very useful.

Digg’s count on your post?

How to make your digg count on your post and giving access to your reader to immidiately digg your post.  Well, after seeing other do this. I have tried some experimentation how to do it and it goes like this.

1) Submit the blog post you have made to Digg so you could have the first count.

2) Then after submission to digg, Digg will give you a URL directing to the digg post that you have made

3) Copy the URL

4) Edit your post ( the one you have submitted to digg )  and incorporate this code

Excel Tricks : Hide Those %&@# Formula Errors

 Below is another Tricks

Problem : You are making a calculation on Your Excel Sheet and suddenly when you remove your Fixed Values, Your calculated answers returns the value ( #VALUE or #DIV/0 ). This is because a certain number ort any number has been divided by Zero.

Solution : You have to use the function ISERROR

ISERROR Returns TRUE if the value is any error value

Syntax : =IF(ISERROR(Original Formula),”",(Original Formula))

Sample : =if(iserror(B4*C4),”",(B4*C4))

Conclusion : This means that if B4*C4 will result to an invalid mathematical Calculation the answer will be null ( or blank )

This is another tip I Copied from my files. This describes a way to use the Conditional Formatting feature to quickly identify dupes (duplicates) in a range. Say that you’ve been saddled with the job of organizing the seating list for the company dinner party. You have the list of assignments in range A1:B18. Obviously, the same person should not be assigned to more than one table. Here’s a quick way to determine if the range contains duplicate names.
