CES-Yahoo unveils partners for Web TV push

Inc unveiled on Wednesday a list of partners to aid its push to bring the Internet and together, hoping their joint effort will finally connect with consumers.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Yahoo said it has forged deals with companies including Samsung Electronics Co Ltd , Electronics Inc , Sony Corp  and Vizio, which will make high-definition TVs that support Yahoo’s online service.

Ever since the dawn of the Internet Age, tech companies have been promising to bring "convergence" of the online and TV universes, but those efforts have failed to take off with consumers who have found such products difficult to use.

The new TVs announced on Wednesday will be in the market as early as the spring and will support widgets — small Internet applications — that run alongside broadcast TV content, but not over it.

Nokia Touch Screen Mobile on It’s Way

image You can now expect Touch Screen from . But I believe they will still used the Symbian OS and will not use the Windows Mobiles as like other touch screen Manfufacturer is using.

Nokia have also told At a recent Nokia event held in New Delhi, Devinder Kishore (the director of marketing for Nokia India) was quoted as saying that “We will have lots of touchscreen phones coming up, including an N-series device very soon.” Granted, it’s not at all shocking to hear that the engineers in Espoo are already conjuring up touch-friendly N-series handsets, but at least you know there’s a fingertip-lovin’ Nokia coming for you.

Portégé R600 Laptop With Nine Hour Battery Life

image

Portégé R600 (note the preponderance of accent aigus, indicating its French Canadian market) is Toshiba’s latest laptopز

It’s not a powerhouse: a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor, a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM, but it weighs less than two and a half pounds and, most impressively, promises nine hour battery life, for a little over a couple grand.

I have used Toshiba before and I must say that Toshiba is a brand where you can depend on.

New Online Dictionary – Metaglossary

Do you want an online Dictionary which loads very fast and has a nice and good design. I think I got what you want its the a new Online Dictionary called metaglossary.com made by Uri Avissar and Jeffrey Regier, They are now in beta version. I suggest you try the site.It is pretty cool . Below is some excerpts on their about page.

“Meta” means beyond, more comprehensive, or more highly organized, and with respect to other dictionaries and glossaries, MetaGlossary is all these things. MetaGlossary harvests definitions from the entire web, the world’s largest, constantly-updated repository of information. Hence, it surpasses traditional dictionaries, which grow more out of date with each passing day. MetaGlossary is as dynamic as the web, offering the most current information out there on the most contemporary topics.

However, unlike other search engines, MetaGlossary is able to precisely extract the meanings of terms and phrases from the often frustratingly unmanageable mass of information on the web. It provides you with concise, direct explanations for terms and phrases, not just endless links to sift through in search of a comprehensive definition.

What’s more, MetaGlossary organizes these meanings based on topic and usage, so you’ll find the one you’re looking for quickly and easily. Since MetaGlossary spans the expanse of the web, even your most field-specific requests for terms, phrases, acronyms, technical jargon, and slang, will be successfully met.

When I try this site it gives good information for research since it also shows the website where it gets the meaning of the words. Try it and tell me what is the result. It’s a good resource for my kids.
