CTRL combination shortcut keys for Microsoft Excel

If you like my previous post about the Microsoft Excel Hot key, I think you will also like this one.

The following lists contain CTRL combination shortcut keys, function keys, and some other common shortcut keys, along with descriptions of their functionality.

Key Description

CTRL+( Unhides any hidden rows within the selection

CTRL+) Unhides any hidden columns within the selection

CTRL+& Applies the outline border to the selected cells.

CTRL+_ Removes the outline border from the selected cells.

CTRL+~ Applies the General number format.

CTRL+$ Applies the Currency format with two decimal places (negative numbers in parentheses).

CTRL+% Applies the Percentage format with no decimal places.

CTRL+^ Applies the Exponential number format with two decimal places.

CTRL+# Applies the Date format with the day, month, and year.

CTRL+@ Applies the Time format with the hour and minute, and AM or PM.

CTRL+! Applies the Number format with two decimal places, thousands separator, and minus sign (-) for negative Values

CTRL+- Displays the Delete dialog box to delete the selected cells.

CTRL+* Selects the current region around the active cell (the data area enclosed by blank rows and blank columns). In a PivotTable, it selects the entire PivotTable report.

CTRL+: Enters the current time

CTRL+; Enters the current date

CTRL+` Alternates between displaying cell values and displaying formulas in the worksheet.

CTRL+’ Copies a formula from the cell above the active cell into the cell or the Formula Bar.

CTRL+” Copies the value from the cell above the active cell into the cell or the Formula Bar.

CTRL++ Displays the Insert dialog box to insert blank cells.

I have been using Microsoft Excel in almost 6 Years. And Excel really helps me a lot on various calculation. Hope it will help you also.

Adobe has released an update for Acrobat 8 Professional and Standard, which provides support for Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.

Where it is compatible?

The free update – dubbed Acrobat 8.1 – is now available to Windows users for download here and Mac users here. The update can also be obtained via the product line’s automatic updater technology.

In an official statement of adobe, an Adobe representative stated,

“Adobe shipped Acrobat 8 in November of last when the final versions of Vista and Office 2007 were not yet available. As a result, while the initial shipping version of Acrobat 8 could be installed and run on Vista and Office 2007, it did not fully support them.”

The firm also revealed that Adobe Reader 8.1 is also now available to home users. The free Adobe Reader 8.1 is Vista-compatible and is available for download here.

Iphone with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel Features

One of the features the reason why I bought my I-mate PDAL is because of it’s Microsoft excel and Microsoft Word feature which is really a big help on my day to day activities. Although there are some problems that I have mentioned on my review, Still up to now I think this is still suited for me.

But suddenly upon reading the news that iphone will support Microsoft excel and Microsoft word on its platform it is now become one of my wish list.

Gizmodo had shown a recent video of iphone. I have seen also some news here and here .

Really I can’t wait for the availability of the Iphone in the market. But the question, How much will it worth? Is it affordable? I think this are the question need to be answered since we all know that electronic product is very easy to depreciate.

If I will ask you a question, Will you invest for this phone or not?

Commonly Used Alt Keys in Microsoft Excel

Below are some useful Alt Keys that could be used in Microsoft Excel that you usually don’t know how to do.

Instruction : You have to press Alt key while pressing the numbers.

How will I use this Table?

The first column shows the Ctrl Key, it means you have to Press Ctrl+( letter/numbers ) and the right Column will show the results when you press those control keys. The second column is for Microsoft Excel and the Third column is for Microsoft Word.

Bible in my PDA

I am now exploring all the usability of my I-mate PDAL and one of those is installing a handy bible at my palm. The Bible can be Downloaded for free at e-sword.net site. It works fine with my PDA.

The new Pocket e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly! Pocket e-Sword is developed for the Microsoft Pocket PC platforms, with the coolest features being available under the newest “Windows Mobile 2003″. The really cool thing about Pocket e-Sword is that you can have a complete seminary library with you wherever you go!

Minimal system requirements include:

Desktop PC running Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, or XP
Strong Arm/XScale based PDA running Pocket PC 2002, 2003/2003SE, or Windows Mobile 5
PDA must have a “touch screen”

I will post other finding that I may discover with this fantastic PDA.

How to : Set up POP @ Windows Mobiles 5

I am wondering if I could use my PDA Mobile with Windows Mobiles 5 in receiving my e-mail at the office using POP and it succeed. How do I make it? just follow the settings mentioned below

e-mail Address : youremailadd@gmail.com

username : youremailadd@gmail.com

incoming mail server : pop.gmail.com

outgoing mail serer : smtp.gmail.com

Domain : ” Blank”

Incoming Mail server required SSL authentication : ” Check it “

Outgoing Mail server required SSL authentication : ” Check it “

use separate setting : ” Do not check “

Get message header only

This is also applicable if you have a company e-mail. When you tried top open your email thru the net using Microsoft exchange server or whatever try to look at the lower left corner of the screen while the net is asking the password, this number which could you see at the lower left end is usually the incoming mail server / outgoing mail server of your company then follow other details as mention above.

I have see a good Calculator tool for your blog. Most specially if you are having an Engineering blog. According to Kalid Azad who grew up near Boston and earned a degree in computer science from Princeton University with a minor in finance. Row 2 : Y = 10

It should give you and answer of 11.18033988

You could provide any mathematical equation you like. Even it is 3,4,5 and so on variables. It is cool that is why it caught my attention, As an Engineer this kind of application is very useful.

Fight the Junk E-mail

I am really annoyed with the increasing number of Spam Mail that I am receiving everyday. You might wonder what are the things I am doing to combat this spam email? First of all I want to inform you that I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003. And this method is pattern for that version. The first step is to go to the Email you suspected as junk, Then press right click and press the “Add sender to Blocked Sender List “. And since I am doing this time for almost 3 mos from now I have made a list of this Junk mail sender. As of now I have 1,273 list of Junk E-mail Senders >>>> Download here. After your download follow this steps.

1. Go to Action >> Junk Email >> Junk Email Option

2. Go to Block Sender

3. Then Import ” Press Import from File ” the files that you have Downloaded above.

For sure this will make a difference. If you have other list that you wanna share let me know so we can update this post and I am sure this will help a lot of Outlook Users.

Pikeo Photo Sharing

Are you having some problem with storage space at flickr, or either photobucket ?. So here’s an alternative from Pikeo. It was announced at techscape.tv and Techcrunch last November. Their 1 GB capacity caught my attention to try this site. So here are some points I got you can view my trial upload at Pikeo.

What is pikeo?

pikeo helps you organize and have fun with your pictures. You can tag your pictures place them on maps, create albums and even slideshows with map animations. You can also share your photos with friends and family. More is coming, so don’t hesitate to check our blog for upcoming cool features.

Where can I go for help?

You can refer to this document or email us.

How much does it cost?

For now, pikeo has only one free type of account with ~~2GB~~ 1 GB free space. More space should be available soon with paying subscriptions.

Where do I go if I forget my password?

If you forget your password just go on www.pikeo.com and click on forgot password. A new one will be automatically sent to your email address. Use this new password to log in and don’t forget to go to your profile to change it to a password you will remember easily.

Can I order prints?

For now, you can’t order prints. But this feature should come soon.

How do I report a bug with the site?

You can email us to report a bug or problem with the site. Wherever you are in pikeo you can find a link to report bugs at the bottom of the page

Which web browsers are supported by pikeo?
